Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles is one of the largest stable populations of homeless people in the United States. It's home to thousands of individuals and families who face daily struggles just to survive. Community Thrift LA has made Skid Row a cornerstone of our outreach.

Consistent Presence

We don't just show up once and disappear. We're on Skid Row multiple times every week, building relationships and trust with the community. People know our faces, and we know theirs.

The Human Connection

On Skid Row, it's easy to feel invisible. People walk past without making eye contact. We make a point of seeing each person, learning their stories, and treating them with the dignity they deserve. A smile, a conversation, remembering someone's name — these things matter as much as the physical items we provide.
